AbstrakLimbah sayuran di Indonesia sangat banyak, terdiri dari beberapa sisa-sisa penyortiran sayuran seperti sayur kangkung, sawi, kubis, bayam, tomat, cabe dan daun singkong. Limbah sayuran dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk organik, briket, kompos dan biogas. Pemanfaatan biogas di Indonesia masih sangat jarang, biogas merupakan salah satu energi alternatif dan bahan bakunya dapat diperbaharui. Penelitian dilakukan pada skala laboratorium selama 21 hari menggunakan limbah sayur kubis, kangkung, sawi dan pencampuran ketiga limbah tersebut dengan presentase 1,2kg; 0,8kg; 0,4kg masing-masing variasi percobaan dilakukan 3 kali pengulangan, bahan dicacah kecil-kecil, untuk mempercepat proses fermentasi digunakan starter EM4. Variabel yang diamati Suhu digester, Derjarat keasaman (pH), Total Solid (TS), Volatile Solid (VS), Kadar abu, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Produktifitas gas dan Kandungan CH4. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari limbah sayur kubis, kangkung dan sawi dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan biogas. Volume gas limbah kubis memproduksi gas sebesar 17,36 cm 3 ; kangkung memproduksi gas sebesar 25,77 cm 3 ; sawi memproduksi gas sebesar 41,56 cm 3 , sedangkan variasi pencampuran kubis 0,8kg + kangkung 0,4kg + sawi 1,2kg (K4) memproduksi gas sebesar 56,10 cm 3 ; pencampuran kubis 0,4kg + kangkung 1,2kg + sawi 0,8kg (K5) memproduksi gas sebesar 33,35 cm 3 ; pencampuran kubis 1,2kg + kangkung 0,8kg + sawi 0,4kg (K6) memproduksi gas sebesar 69,53 cm 3 . Selama penelitian suhu dan pH relatif konstan berkisar antara 29,0-30,2 o C dan 4,4-7,4. Hasil analisis TS, VS dan COD mengalami penurunan karena bahan organik yang terdapat pada bahan hampir keseluruhan telah didegradasi oleh mikroba. Kandungan CH4 pada limbah kubis 29,42%; kangkung 65,82%; sawi 20,63%.
Abstrak (Inggris)Vegetable waste in Indonesia is available by several remains of sorting vegetables like kale, mustard green, cabbage, spinach, tomato, chili and cassava leaf. Vegetable waste can be use organic fertilizer, briquette, and raw material for biogas. The use of biogas in Indonesia is still rare, biogas is a one of alternative energy and the raw material was renewed. The research did at laboratory scale over 21 days used waste vegetable like cabbage, kale, mustard green and combination the three material with percentage 1.2 kg; 0.8 kg; and 0.4 kg for each other variation with 3 repeated. The raw material was minced into smaller material, for accelerate fermentation process used an EM4 for starter. The variable was observed in this research is a digester temperature, pH of waste, total solid, volatile solid, ash, chemical oxygen demand (COD), gas productivity, and CH4 contents. The outcome from this researched showed a vegetable waste like cabbage, kale, and mustard green can be used for raw material to made biogas. The cabbage waste was produced a gas volume is 17.36 cm 3 , kale was produced a gas volume is 25.77 cm 3 , mustard green was produced a gas volume is 41,56 cm 3 , whereas combination of cabbage 0.8 kg + kale 0.4 kg + mustard green 1.2 kg(K4) was produced a gas volume is 56.10 cm 3 , combination of cabbage 0.4 kg + kale 1.2 kg + mustard green 0.8 kg(K5) was produced a gas volume is 33.35 cm 3 , and combination of cabbage 1.2 kg + kale 0.8 kg + mustard green 0.4 kg(K6) was produced a gas volume is 69.53 cm 3 . During the research an temperature and pH was relatively constant result with range 29.0 – 30.2 0 C and 4.4 – 7.4. The result of TS, VS, and COD analysis was go down because an organic material in raw material was degradation by microbe. CH4 contents in cabbage waste is 29.42 %, kale waste is 65.82 %, and mustard green waste is 20.63 %.
