Judul ArtikelPEMETAAN GEOLOGI BAWAH PERMUKAAN DAN PERHITUNGAN SUMBERDAYA PASIR BESI DI PESISIR KULON PROGO DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA DENGAN METODE GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR)
Abstrak (Inggris)The south coast of Kulonprogo region is an area with potential for iron sand deposition. Iron sand are needed as one of the main raw material in the steel industry and has been widely used in the cement industry. Research mapping of the subsurface by using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) one of the methods geophysical surveys is relatively easy and is often used in data collection under the surface of the shallow and aims to determine the geological conditions below the surface of the shallow (20 meters), the process of formation of iron sand deposits in the area of research with the situation in the surrounding area that affects the formation of iron sand deposits, amount of iron sand resources in the area of research to interpret data Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is used the cross sections. The results showed that based on data from the GPR has five units, based on the interpretation of the limits of the unit, unit A2 is an indication of sand layer Magnetite iron with a high content at a depth of 3 to 8.5 with the same relative thickness average of ± 5 meters. Sand Resources iron reserves calculation using the cross section in the area of research in volume can precipitate the iron sand around 50706.44 m3 with density iron sand of 4,311 tons / m3 in the resource estimate has amounted to 218,595.47 tons. Volume amounted to 20615.38 m3 of overburden and may Stripping Ratio (SR) of 0,407. SR <1 is the value recommended to be done open pit mining.
