AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan status kualitas air Sungai Condong tentang perubahan parameter fisika, kimia, biologi sebelum dan sesudah pembuangan limbah cair industri batik; menggambarkan persepsi masyarakat tentang perubahan kualitas Sungai Condong akibat limbah cair industri batik; dan menganalisis hubungan antara kualitas air dan persepsi masyarakat disekitar Sungai Condong. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di tujuh stasiun dengan 3 kali pengulangan dengan interval satu bulan. Kualitas air dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan acuan Baku Mutu Air. Penentuan status mutu air dengan menggunakan metode Storet. Hasil uji laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa kualitas air Sungai Condong melebihi Baku Mutu Air kelas II berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2001 dan baku mutu limbah tekstil khususnya TSS, DO, BOD5, COD, NH3, sulfida, Cr ( VI), fenol, minyak dan lemak. Parameter biologi menggunaka indeks keanekaragaman makrobenthos(H ') diperoleh nilai yang rendah yaitu 0-1,7077. Status mutu berdasarkan metode Storet, diperoleh nilai> -31. Persepsi masyarakat tentang kualitas air Sungai Condong baik. Dapat disimpulkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status kualitas Sungai Condong sebelum dan sesudah pembuangan air limbah batik sangat tercemar berat. Persepsi masyarakat tentang kualitas air baik. Secara umum, status kualitas mutu sungai sebenarnya tercemar berat, namun persepsi masyarakat terhadap kualitas air masih baik karena mereka tidak memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup tentang pengaruh kromium logam yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan tulang hidung mereka, dan ada juga menemukan penurunan air kualitas Condong River dengan menemukan cacing merah atau cacing darah; dan masyarakat tidak tahu tentang kandungan limbah cair batik, warna air limbah batik berbahaya bagi organisme air, limbah cair industri batik yang mengandung bahan sintetis dan logam berat yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan, logam berat dapat merusak dinding usus dan paru-paru, dan setiap industri yang tidak memiliki Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah merupakan pelanggaran hukum.
Abstrak (Inggris)This study aims to describe the water quality status of Condong River among its parameter changes on physics, chemistry, biology before and after discharge of wastewater from batik industry; describe public perception of changes of wastewater from batik industry; and analyze the relationship between water quality and public perception among the Condong River. Sampling was carried out in seven stations with 3 repetitions at intervals of one month. Water quality were analyzed descriptively by reference raw Water Quality Standard. Determination of the status of water quality using methods Storet. Results of laboratory tests showed that the water quality of the River Condong exceed the Water Quality Standard Group II based on Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and in particular textile waste quality standard TSS, DO, BOD5, COD, NH3, sulfide, Cr (VI), phenols, oils and fats. Biology parameters using makrobentos diversity index (H ') obtained a low value is from 0 to 1.7077. Quality status based Storet method, the value of > -31. The perception of the community about water quality was good. It can be concluded the results showed that the quality status of the Condong River before and after the dumping of batik wastewater was very heavily polluted. The perception of the community about water quality was good. In general, the quality status of river quality was actually heavily polluted, but public perception on the quality of the water is still good because they do not have enough knowledge on the effect of metal chromium that can cause damaged their nose bone, and there was also found a water decline in Condong River quality by finding red worms or blood worms; and people do not know that the content of the batik’s waste, color wastewater of batik is harmful to aquatic organisms, industrial wastewater batik containing synthetic material and heavy metal which harmful to the health, the heavy metal can damage intestinal wall and lungs, and any industry that does not have Waste Water Treatment Installation is against the law.
