| Abstrak | Penelitian yang berjudul “A Sociolinguistics Analysis of Intimate Language in The Fault in Our Stars Movie” bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan bahasa intim yang digunakan oleh karakter dalam The Fault in Our Stars; (2) untuk mendeskripsikan tujuan dari bahasa intim yang digunakan oleh karakter dalam The Fault in Our Stars. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian ini adalah percakapan oleh karakter yang mengandung bahasa intim dan tujuan dari penggunaan bahassa intim. Untuk menganalisis data, peneliti mengklasifikasikan data dalam jenis-jenis bahasa intim apa yang dipergunakan, menganalisis jenis bahasa intim dalam film dan membuat penjelasan, menganalisis tujuan bahasa intim yang digunakan dalam percakapan, serta memilih dan mengelompokan data serta memberi kesimpulan dan saran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 74 bahasa intim yang digunakan oleh karakter. Ada 41 intimate by name, 8 intimate by kinship, 14 intimate by intimacy, 5 intimate by respect dan 6 intimate by mockery. Kemudian, ada 74 tujuan yang ditemukan berdasarkan percakapan yang menggunakan bahasa intim yaitu 17 to comfort someone, 9 to get closer each other, dan 48 to express their feeling. |
| Abstrak (Inggris) | The research entitled “A Sociolinguistics Analysis of Intimate Language in The Fault in Our Stars movie” aims to: (1) to describe the intimate language used by the characters in The Fault in Our Stars; (2) to describe the purposes of intimate language used by the characters in The Fault in Our Stars. The researcher used qualitative method with purposive sampling technique applied in this research. The sample of this research was conversation by character containing the use of intimate language and the purpose of using intimate language. To analyse the data, the researcher classified the data in the types of using intimate language, analyzed the types of intimate language in the movie and made explanation, analyzed the purpose of intimate language in conversation, and selected and grouped the data as well as drew conclusions and suggestions. The result shows that there are 74 intimate languages used by the characters. There are 41 intimate by name, 8 intimate by kinship, 14 intimate by intimacy, 5 intimate by respect and 6 intimate by mockery. Then, there are 74 purposes found in the classification based on conversation that used intimate language. They are 17 to comfort someone, 9 to get closer each other, and 48 to express their feeling. |
