Judul ArtikelAKTIVITAS PROTEASE DAN AMILASE PADA SALURAN DIGESTI IKAN SIDAT (Anguilla bicolor McClelland) DENGAN UKURAN BERBEDA
Abstrak (Inggris)The experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3x2 factorial pattern and four replicates has been conducted to evaluate the protease and amylase activities of Anguilla bicolor McClelland. A total of 71 individuals consisting of 51 individuals with an average weight of 41.25 ± 0.898 g, 14 individuals with an average weight of 319.8 ± 4.666 g and 6 individuals with an average weight of 569.5 ± 9.150 g were used in this study. The results showed that protease activity differed significantly to fish size and intestinal segment (P˂.05). The highest protease activity was found in eels with the smallest size (41.25 ± 0.898 g) and the protease activity in the anterior intestine was higher than the posterior intestine in all fish sizes, but amylase activity did not differ significantly (P>.05) with fish size and intestinal segment. In conclusion, the protein digestion capacity of small eels was higher than larger eels, and it was higher in the anterior intestine than the posterior intestine. Carbohydrate digestion capacity in eels was not affected by changes in fish size, which indicates no change in the category of feed.
