| Abstrak | Ekstraksi gigi merupakan suatu tindakan pembedahan yang menyebabkan soket mengalami perlukaan. Jaringan yang mengalami perlukaan akan diikuti dengan adanya proses penyembuhan luka. Proses penyembuhan luka dapat diamati dari kadar Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). Daun jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) merupakan tumbuhan herbal yang sering dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan tradisional sebagai obat penyembuh luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) terhadap peningkatan kadar VEGF pada penyembuhan luka pasca ekstraksi gigi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris dengan teknikpost test only control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 tikus (Rattus norvegicus) yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol sehat, kelompok kontrol negatif yang diberi carbopol 940, kelompok perlakuan diberi ekstrak daun jarak pagar 1%, kelompok perlakuan diberi ekstrak daun jarak pagar 5% dan kelompok perlakuan diberi ekstrak daun jarak pagar 10%. Hasil pengamatan kemudian dianalisis dengan one way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar VEGF meningkat setelah diberi diberi ekstrak daun jarak pagar dengan konsentrasi 10%. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji one way ANOVA dan post hoc LSD menunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna kadar VEGF (p<0,05) antara kelompok K0 dengan K1, K0 dengan P2, K0 dengan P3, K1 dengan P1, K1 dengan P2, K1 dengan P3, P1 dengan P2, P1 dengan P3, P2 dengan P3. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak daun jarak pagar berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kadar VEGF pada luka pasca ekstraksi gigi. |
| Abstrak (Inggris) | Tooth extraction is an act that causes injury to the tooth socket. Common to all tissue types, the wound healing process begins immediately after injury. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) play an important in wound healing process. Jatropha curcas Linn leaf has been used for wound healing. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of ethanolic leaf extracts Jatropha curcas Linnto the levels of VEGF in wound healing after tooth extraction. This type of research is experimental laboratoris with post test only control group design. Twenty five male Rattus norvegicus rats divided into 5 groups: healthy control, negative control given carbopol 940, treatment given 1% ethanolic leaf extract of Jatropha curcas Linn, treatment given 5% ethanolic leaf extract of Jatropha curcas Linn, treatment given 10% ethanolic leaf extract of Jatropha curcas Linn. VEGF levels increased in treatment given 10% ethanolic leaf extract of Jatropha curcas Linn. All the results were statistically analysed using one way ANOVA and post hoc LSD showed that there were significant differences (p<0,05) between group K0 and K1, K0 and P2, K0 and P3, K1 and P1, K1 and P2, K1 and P3, P1 and P2, P1 and P3, P2 and P3.This study showed that ethanoilc leaf extract of Jatropha curcas Linn increased VEGF levels on wound healing after tooth extraction. |
