| Judul Artikel | EFEK PENGGUNAAN VIRGIN COCONUT OIL (VCO) TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA DIABETES FASE PROLIFERASI PADA TIKUS YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN |
| Abstrak | Latar Belakang: Diabetes mellitus merupakan salah satu penyakit kronik yang semakin banyak diderita. Komplikasi yang terjadi pada penderita DM adalah luka diabetes. Salah satu alternatif perawatan luka diabetes yang dapat dilakukan yaitu virgin coconut oil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek aplikasi virgin coconut oil terhadap penyembuhan luka pada tikus diabetes. Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain true experiment dengan pendekatan posttest only with control group design. Sampel berjumlah 10 tikus dengan 5 tikus pada kelompok kontrol dan 5 tikus pada kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok perlakuan mendapatkan perawatan yang sama dengan kelompok kontrol, namun diberi perawatan tambahan menggunakan virgin coconut oil selama 7 hari. Sampel diamati secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis, untuk kemudian dilakukan analisis deksriptif. Hasil Penelitian: Secara makroskopis warna luka kedua kelompok pada hari ke-0 adalah merah. Pada kelompok perlakuan hari ke-3 lebih dahulu terlihat slough dan bertambah banyak sampai hari ke-7. Pada kelompok kontrol slough terlihat lebih jelas pada hari ke-4 dan mulai menebal pada hari ke-6 sampai hari ke-7. Pada hari ke-7 luas luka kelompok kontrol sedikit lebih kecil dibanding kelompok perlakuan. Secara mikroskopis menunjukkan bahwa intensitas sel inflamasi kelompok perlakuan lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol, dan reepitelisasi kelompok perlakuan lebih pendek dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Kesimpulan:Pemberian Virgin coconut oil memperlambat fase proliferasi dan proses penyembuhan luka. | Abstrak (Inggris) | Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the more common chronic diseases. Diabetic wound is complications that occur in patients with diabetes mellitus. One alternative treatment of diabetic wound that can be done is pure coconut oil. This study aims to determine the effect of virgin coconut oil on wound healing in diabetes. Methods: This study used true experiment design posttest only with control group design. The object of research used were 10 male wistar rats, 5 samples and 5 control samples. The treatment group will have the same treatment with the control group, but were given additional treatment using virgin coconut oil for 7 days. Samples will be reviewed macroscopically and microscopically, for later descriptive analysis. Result: The macroscopic color of the wounds in both groups on day 0 is red. On the 3rd day until the 7th day both groups have slough. In the control group the slough was seen more clearly on day 4 and began to thicken on day 6 to day 7. On day 7 the extent of the treatment group wound was smaller than control group. Microscopically showed that the inflammatory cell intensity of the treatment group was higher than control group, and the reepitelization of the treatment group was shorter than the control group. Conclusion: The treatment of Virgin coconut oil slows down the proliferation phase and the wound healing process.
