| Abstrak | Daun Mirabilis jalapa merupakan tananam yang mengandung flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, dan terpenoid yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat formula sediaan gel antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol daun M. jalapa yang memenuhi syarat evaluasi sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik selama penyimpanan serta mengetahui aktivitas antibakterinya pada E. coli. Ekstrak etanol 70% daun M. jalapa dibuat sebanyak 4 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol M. jalapa yaitu 1%, 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Gel yang dihasilkan diuji sifat fisik dan kestabilan fisik sediaan. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran dengan menggunakan kontrol positif (gel antis) dan kontrol negatif (Gel tanpa ekstrak). Data pengukuran pH, homogenitas, dan stabilitas fisik sediaan gel dianalisis secara deskriptif sedangkan pengukuran viskositas, daya sebar, dan daya lekat dianalisis dengan uji ANAVA satu arah (P.95%) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Data diameter zona hambat dari setiap sediaan dianalisis menggunakan uji ANAVA satu arah (P.95%) dan bila terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan uji HSD Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak dan lama penyimpanan dalam sediaan gel menyebabkan daya sebar menurun, viskositas meningkat, daya lekat meningkat, pH stabil dan homogenitas pada berbagai formula gel selama penyimpanan. Semua sediaan gel menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri gel ekstrak etanol daun M. jalapa menunjukkan Formula IV memiliki zona hambat tertinggi yaitu sebesar 29,77 mm dan yang paling mendekati kemampuan kontrol positif. Hasil analisis statistik terdapat perbedaan signifikan antarformula kecuali antarformula 1 dan 2 untuk pengukuran viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat dan diameter zona hambat. | Abstrak (Inggris) | Mirabilis jalapa leaves contain flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid and terpenoid which has antibacteria activity. Ethanol extract of it was gel formula used. The objective of this research were to create antibacteria gel formulation of M. Jalapa that meet the evaluation phsycal properties requirement during storage and the effectivity of it to E. coli. Extract 70 % was used to extract ethanol leaves M. jalapa made with 4 formula with variations gel concentration extract ethanol M. jalapa 1 %, 3 %, 5 %, and 7 %. Gel produced tested physical properties and stability physical preparation. Test antibacterial activity performed with cup plate technique by using control positively (gel antis) and control negatively (gel without extract). Data of measurement of the pH of homogeneity, and stability physical preparation gel analyzed in descriptive, while the measurement of viscosity power spread, and southwestern attaching analyzed by test ANAVA one way (P.95 %) and continued with test BNT (different real smallest). The diameter of a zone obstruent of any data analysis using test preparation ANAVA one way (P.95 %), and when there is a difference continued with HSD tukey test. The results showed that an increased concentration of extracts and long stowage in preparation gel causing power spread to decline the viscosity of increasing attaching increased resources pH stable and of homogeneity on various formula gel for storage. All preparation gel show antibacterial activity. The results of the test antibacterial activity gel extract ethanol leaves M. jalapa show formula having a zone is as much as an obstruent highest 29,77 mm and most likely the ability to control positive. The result of statistical analysis there are significant differences between formula except between formula 1 and 2, to the measurement of viscosity power spread, southwestern attaching and diameter of an obstruent zone.
