AbstrakMinyak atsiri rimpang lengkuas diketahui memiliki khasiat sebagai antifungi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antifungi salep minyak atsiri rimpang lengkuas terhadap Malassezia furfur dan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik sediaannya dalam formulasi salep dengan basis polietilen glikol. Minyak atsiri rimpang lengkuas diperoleh dengan cara destilasi uap air. Formula salep dibuat dengan 3 variasi konsentrasi yaitu 0,1 mL; 0,15 mL; 0,2 mL. Uji sifat fisik sediaan salep yang dilakukan adalah uji pH, uji homogenitas, uji daya sebar, dan uji daya lekat. Data pengukuran pH dan homogenitas dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data pengukuran daya sebar, daya lekat, dan zona hambat aktivitas antifungi dianalisis menggunakan metode ANAVA satu arah dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua formula salep memenuhi syarat sifat fisik sediaan salep. Semua sediaan salep memiliki aktivitas antifungi. Aktivitas antifungi terbesar diperoleh pada formula III yaitu rata-rata sebesar 18 mm.
Abstrak (Inggris)The galanga rhizome essential oil is known to have the antifungal function. This research was aimed to find out antifungal activity in the essential oil ointment of rhizomes of galanga towards Malassezia furfur and to investigate the physical characteristics of its sample in the cream formulation within the basics of polyethylene glycol. The galanga rhizome essential oil was obtained by aqueous vapor distillation. The ointment formula was prepared with 3 various concentration for 0,1 mL; 0,15 mL; 0,2 mL. A test of physical characteristic was carried out by pH test, homogeneity test, spreading ability test and adhesiveness test. The data of pH measurement and homogeneity test were analyzed descriptively. The data of spreading ability, adhesiveness test, and antifungal activity inhibition zone were analyzed through the methods of one way ANOVA with 95% of accuracy. The result of the research showed that all of the ointment formula qualified the requirements of the ointment’s physical characteristics. All of the ointment samples have antifungal activities. The greatest antifungal activity obtained in Formula III is an average of 18 mm.
