Judul ArtikelUJI SENSITIVITAS MEROPENEM TERHADAP BAKTERI PENGHASILEXTENDEDSPECTRUMBETA LACTAMASE (ESBL) DI RSUD Prof. Dr. MARGONO SOEKARJO, PURWOKERTO
Abstrak (Inggris)Enterobacteriaceae Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) can beproduced by Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp., Escherichia coli, Citrobacter, Morganella, Providencia, Salmonella, and Serratia. The bacteria can cause multidrug resistan against antibiotics. This study aim is to determine the level of sensitivity of meropenem against ESBL producing bacteria in RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo, Purwokerto. ESBL bacteria was isolated from 53 urine samples obtained from a urinary catheter male patient solder than19 years old, who had been hospitalized at least 2 days. Identification of the types of bacteria were conducted by gram staining test and IMViC (Indole, Methyl red, Voges-Proskauer, Citrate) test. ESBL Tests conducted with initial screen test using cefotaxime and ceftazidime antibiotic discs. Sensitivity test of meropenem were conducted using disk diffusion test on Mueller Hinton Agar as the medium. Interpretation of data from antibiotic inhibition zone diameter measurements was based on theClinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Test results showed that the ESBL producing bacteria by 58,92%, ESBL/ Non ESBL by 28,46%, and Non ESBL by 14,62%. Sensitivity of meropenem against ESBL shows the results of 86,49%, 0%, 13,51% as sensitive, intermediate, resistant, respectively.
