Kata kunci: Kajian Ekploratif, Kemampuan Berbicara Bahasa Inggris, Metode Snowball Throwing Skripsi ini berjudul “Mengeksplor metode snowball throwing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa inggris pada siswa kelas level Go For It 1 di Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) menjelaskan bagaimana pengajaran menggunakan metode snowball throwing pada siswa kelas level Go For It 1 dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa di Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto (2) menjelaskan masalah-masalah selama pengajaran menggunakan metode snowball throwing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa kelas level Go For It 1 di Intensive English Course (IEC) purwokerto. (3) menjelaskan solusi-solusi selama pengajaran menggunakan metode snowball throwing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa kelas level Go For It 1 di Intensive English Course (IEC) purwokerto. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Metode deskripsi kualitatif digunakan untuk menemukan bagaimana penggunaan metode snowball throwing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan speaking siswa kelas level Go For It 1di Intensive English Course (IEC) purwokerto dan untuk menemukan masalah-masalah selama pengajaran menggunakan metode snowball throwing lalu untuk menemukan solusi-solusi selama pengajaran menggunakan metode snowball throwing . Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil dari penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa Snowball Throwing Method memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan speaking siswa. snowball throwing memberikan pengaruh positif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan speaking siswa di level Go For It 1 hal ini bisa dilihat dari hasil indikator observasi yang menunjukan bahwa semua hasil indikator meningkat dari pertemuan observasi 1 sampai 6. masalah yang dialami oleh guru dan murid selama menggunakan metode snowball throwing adalah guru tidak bisa mengatur waktu dalam mengajar speaking menggunakan metode snowball throwing dan pertanyaan yang dibuat oleh siswa hanya berkutat dengan materi yang diberikan oleh guru. solusi dalam penggunaan metode snowball throwing guru harus bisa mengatur waktu dalam mengajar speaking juga harus datang tepat waktu sebelum mengajar dimulai, siswa harus bisa lebih kreatif dalam membuat beberapa pertanyaan dalam pengajaran speaking menggunakan metode snowball throwing.

Keywords: Explorative Study, Speaking Ability, Snowball Throwing Method The study, entitled "Exploring Snowball Throwing Method to Improve Students’ Speaking Abilty (A Case Study on the Level Go For It 1 at Intensive English Course Purwokerto). The purpose of the research are (1) To explain about how the snowball throwing method is used as teaching method to enrich the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) in improving the students’ speaking skill. (2) To find out the problems about the use of snowball throwing method in improving the students’ speaking skill in the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto. (3) To find out the solutions about the use of snowball throwing method in improving the students’ speaking skill in the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative. Descriptive qualitative method is used to explain about how the snowball throwing method is used as teaching method to enrich the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) in improving the students’ speaking skill and to find out the problems about the use of snowball throwing method in improving the students’ speaking skill in the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto, Then to find out the solusions about the use of snowball throwing method in improving the students’ speaking skill in the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course (IEC) Purwokerto. The subjects in this research are the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course, Purwokerto. The data are collected through observation, questionnaire and interview. The result of the use of snowball throwing method to improve students’ speaking ability in the level of “Go For It 1” at Intensive English Course Purwokerto was gave positive influence because from the indicator of the observation result, it could be seen that all of the indicator have increased from meeting 1 to 6. The problems encountered by the teacher and students of using snowball throwing are she requires a long enough time to teaching speaking English using snowball throwing and the questions made by students are usually just about the materials that have been described or as examples of questions that have been given. The solutions of using snowball throwing are to manage of time, the teacher made schedule and came into the classroom on time before teaching. Then,students have to make some questions more creative in snowball throwing.
