Kementerian Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Jurusan Sastra Inggris, Program Studi Sastra Inggris, Purwokerto, 2019. Penelitian ini berjudul ‘The Analysis of Expressive Acts in ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’ Youtube Channel’. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tipe ekspresif apa yang terdapat pada ujaran dari anak-anak di acara ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mendeskripsikan tipe ekspresif yang paling banyak digunakan di semua video yang diteliti. Bidang penelitian ini adalah pragmatik yang merupakan kajian tentang makna yang berbasis pada konteks. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, beberapa teori digunakan antara lain teori tindak tutur oleh Yule (1996) dan teori tentang fungsi ekspresif oleh Maiz (2017). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data penelitian ini didapat dari tindak ekspresif pada ujaran dari anak-anak dalam acara ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’ dari episode 1-10. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya enam tipe ekspresif yang digunakan oleh anak-anak di acara tersebut. Terdapat 169 data yang ditemukan didalam penelitian ini. Mereka adalah Thanking 1, Praising 14, Joy 9, Like 50, Dislike 90, dan Disappointment 5. Disampimg itu, Dislike merupakan jenis ekspresif yang paling banyak ditemukan di dalam penelitian. Hal ini terjadi karena acara tersebut dibuat untuk menambah wawasan anak-anak tentang berbagai jenis makan dari seluruh dunia. Ketika mereka mencicipi makanan tersebut untuk pertama kalinya, mereka merasakan sesuatu yang baru sehingga sebagian besar dari anak-anak tidak menyukai makanan tersebut. Selain itu, peneliti juga menjelaskan tentang konteks situasi disetiap percakapan agar percakapan yang ada mudah untuk dipahami. Kesimpulannya, ada 6 jenis ekspresif yang ditemukan didalam objek penelitian. Mereka adalah Thanking, Praising, Joy, Like, Dislike, dan Disappointment dengan Dislike sebagai jenis ekpresif yang paling banyak digunakan didalam objek penelitian. This research is entitled “The Analysis of Expressive Acts in ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’ Youtube Channel”. It aims at finding out the types of expressive acts performed by the kids in ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’. Furthermore, it describes the dominant types used in the whole episodes of the video. The field of this research is pragmatics which is the study of meaning based on the context. In analyzing the data, some theories are applied which are speech act theory by Yule (1996) and the functions of expressive acts by Maiz (2017). The method of this research is qualitative. The data of this research are the expressive acts performed by the kids in ‘Hiho Kids: Kids Try’ Youtube Channel from episode 1-10. The result of this research shows that there are 6 types of expressive acts used by the kids in the video. There were 169 data that were found in the research. There are Thanking 1, Praising 14, Joy 9, Like 50, Dislike 90, and Disappointment 5. Meanwhile, it is also found that Dislike is the dominant type used in the whole video. It is because the show is created to explore the children’s experience towards the food from around the world. When they try the food for the first time, they taste something new. Therefore, most of them do not like the new foods. In addition, the researcher also explains the context of situation of each conversation in order to make the conversation easily understood. In conclude, there are 6 types of Expressive Acts that are found in the object of research. They are Thanking, Praising, Joy, Like, Dislike, and Disappointment with Dislike as the most used Expressive Act in the object of research.
