| Abstrak | Penelitian ini berjudul Psycholinguistics Analysis of Autism Depicted on Autism Family’s YouTube Channel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu 1) untuk menemukan jenis-jenis kekhasan bahasa yang diproduksi oleh Ian yang tergambar di channel YouTube Autism Family dan 2) menjelaskan bagaimana respon kognitif Ian di dalam percakapan ketika dia memproduksi kekhasan bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Bogdashina (2005) tentang kekhasan bahasa dan teori Rothwell (2000) tentang respon kognitif. Data dari penelitian ini berbentuk ujaran yang menggambarkan jenis-jenis kepelikan bahasa dan respon kognitif yang diproduksi oleh Ian. Hasilnya menunjukkan dua hal penting. Pertama, ada tujuh jenis kekhasan bahasa yang ditemukan. Ketujuh jenis kekhasan bahasa tersebut antara lain: echolalia, pronoun reversal, extreme literalness, repetitive questioning, demanding the same verbal scenario, autistic discourse style, dan poor control of prosody. Kedua, ada 2 jenis response kognitif yang ditemukan, yaitu cognitively irrelevant responses dan cognitively relevant responses. Ian memproduksi Extreme literalness dengan kuantitas yang tinggi karena Ian sering menggunakan bahasa yang mempunyai makna secara harfiah dibandingkan menciptakan kata-kata baru yang mempunyai makna bukan sesungguhnya. Cognitively irrelevant response ditemukan dengan jumlah yang besar karena Ian tidak mengetahui bagaimana cara untuk mempertahankan percakapan. |
| Abstrak (Inggris) | This research is entitled Psycholinguistics Analysis of Autism Depicted on Autism Family’s YouTube Channel. The objectives of this research are to find out the kinds of language peculiarities that are produced by Ian depicted on Autism Family’s YouTube channel and describe how the cognitive responses of Ian in conversation when he produces language peculiarities. This research uses Bogdashina’s theory (2005) about kinds of language peculiarities and Rothwell’s theory (2000) about cognitive responses. The data in this research are in the form of utterances which reflect the kinds of language peculiarities and the cognitive responses that are produced by Ian. The results show two important points. First, there are 7 kinds of language peculiarities: echolalia pronoun reversal, extreme literalness, repetitive questioning, demanding the same Verbal Scenario, autistic discourse style, and poor control of prosody. Second, there are 2 kinds of cognitive responses: cognitively irrelevant responses and cognitively relevant responses. Ian produces extreme literalness in the high quantity because he often uses literal language instead creates new words that have nonliteral meaning. The cognitively irrelevant response is also found in a large number because he does not know how to maintain conversation. |
