AbstrakLatar Belakang : Hiperkolesterolemia adalah kondisi ketika kadar kolesterol di dalam tubuh melebihi normal. Keadaan ini salah satunya ditandai dengan kadar kolesterol total ≥240 mg/dL. Tingginya kadar kolesterol dalam tubuh meningkatkan resiko penyakit kardiovaskular. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bawang tunggal hitam terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total pada tikus putih model hiperkolesterolemia. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain true experimental pre and post test with control group. Total sampel 36 ekor tikus putih galur wistar jantan. Sampel dibagi 6 kelompok yaitu kontrol sehat, kontrol negatif, kontrol positif (simvastatin dosis 0.90 mg/kgBB), perlakuan seduhan bawang tunggal hitam dosis 90 mg/kgBB, 180 mg/kgBB, dan 360 mg/kgBB. Penentuan sampel untuk setiap kelompok menggunakan simple random sampling. Diet tinggi lemak diberikan selama 7 hari. Seduhan bawang tunggal hitam diberikan selama 14 hari Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat penurunan kolesterol total pada kelompok perlakuan seduhan bawang tunggal hitam. Pemberian seduhan bawang tunggal hitam lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pemberian simvastatin, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai terapi non farmakologi. Seduhan bawang tunggal hitam dosis 180 mg/kgBB merupakan dosis yang paling efektif menurunkan kadar kolesterol total. Kesimpulan : Seduhan bawang tunggal hitam berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total. Dosis 180 mg/kgBB merupakan dosis yang paling efektif menurunkan kadar kolesterol total.
Abstrak (Inggris)Background : Hypercholesterolemia is a condition when cholesterol levels exceed normal. This situation is characterized by a total cholesterol level of ≥ 240 mg / dL. High cholesterol levels in the body increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. This research aimed to identify the effect by giving steeping of single clove black garlic infused on total cholesterol levels of hypercholesterolemia white rat model. Method : This research using true experimental pre and post with control group design. Total samples were 36 male white wistar strain rats. Samples were divided into 6 groups: healthy control, negative control, positive control (simvastatin dose 0.90 mg/kgBB), treatment of single clove black garlic dose 90 mg/kgBB, 180 mg/kgBB, and 360 mg/kgBB. Determination of the sample for each group by simple random sampling technique. High fat diet given during 7 days. The steeping single clove black garlic were given during 14 days. Result : The research showed there were decrease of total cholesterol levels on the treatment group with single clove black garlic. Single clove black garlic were more effective than simvastatin. So, it can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy. Single clove black garlic treatment dose of 180 mg/kgBB were the most effective dose for decreasing total cholesterol levels. Conclusion : The treatment of single clove black garlic effective to reduce of total cholesterol. The dose 180 mg/kgBB were the most effective dose for decreasing total cholesterol levels.
