AbstrakTujuan experimen ini untuk mengetahui konsumsi protein kasar dan serat kasar pakan domba yang disuplementasi tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) dan kromium organik. Penelitian berlangsung di GunungTugel Farm dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto, pada Agustus-Januari 2020. Menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, ulangan 6 kali, dengan 3 perlakuan, jumlah ternak 18 ekor domba jantan dan 2 ekor domba pengganti, bobot awal ± 16 kg, dan umur 7 bulan. Perlakuan: Pakan kontrol (55% konsentrat + 45% hijauan) (PK 13%, TDN 65%) (R0), R0 + 3,6% tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) (R1), dan R1 + 0,3 ppm kromium Organik (R2). Konsumsi protein kasar dan konsumsi serat kasar merupakan parameter yang diamati. Penelitan menunjukkan, terdapat pengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi serat kasar (P<0,05). Konsumsi serat kasar tertinggi pada R2 sebesar 177,33 gram/ekor/hari, diikuti R1 sebesar 161,42 gram/ekor/hari, dan R0 sebesar 147,96 gram/ekor/hari. Perlakuan yang diberikan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan konsumsi protein kasar (P>0,05), nilai konsumsi protein kasar R0, R1, dan R2 sebesar: 106,60 gram/ekor/hari; 110,97 gram/ekor/hari; dan 107,12 gram/ekor/hari. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan, suplementasi tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp.) dan kromium organik dapat meningkatkan konsumsi serat kasar pakan domba namun tidak mempengaruhi jumlah konsumsi protein kasar pakan domba.
Abstrak (Inggris). The purpose of this experiment is to determine the consumption of crude protein and crude fiber of sheep feed supplemented with seaweed flour (Gracilaria sp.) and organic chromium. The research took place at GunungTug Farm and Animal Food Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, in August-January 2020. Using a completely randomized design, repeated 6 times, with 3 treatments, the number of livestock was 18 rams and 2 replacement sheep, initial weight ± 16 kg, and age 7 months. Treatment: Control feed (55% concentrate + 45% forage) (PK 13%, TDN 65%) (R0), R0 + 3,6% seaweed flour (Gracilaria sp.) (R1), and R1 + 0,3 ppm Organic chromium (R2). Consumption of crude protein and consumption of crude fiber are the observed parameters. Research shows, there is a significant effect on crude fiber consumption (P <0,05). The highest consumption of crude fiber at R2 was 177,33 gram / head / day, followed by R1 of 161,42 gram / head / day, and R0 of 147,96 gram / head / day. The treatment given had no significant effect on increasing the consumption of crude protein (P> 0,05), the value of consumption of crude protein R0, R1, and R2 of: 106,60 gram / head /day; 110,97 gram / head /day; and 107,12 gram /head /day. The results of the study concluded, supplementation of seaweed flour (Gracilaria sp.) And organic chromium can increase consumption of crude fiber sheep feed but does not affect the amount of crude protein consumption of sheep feed.
