| Judul Artikel | Sibling Rivalry in Blume’s Superfudge |
| Abstrak | Penelitian ini berjudul Sibling Rivalry in Blume’s Superfudge. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persaingan saudara kandung terjadi di Blume's Superfudge. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis data. Data primer adalah novel Judy Blume yang berjudul Superfudge (1980). Superfudge adalah novel anak-anak kedua dari sekuel Seri Fudge. Penelitian ini berfokus pada psikologi yang mempelajari perilaku manusia dan penyebabnya. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan teori Adler (1964) tentang persaingan saudara kandung untuk mengetahui karakteristik anak-anak di Blume's Superfudge. Peneliti juga menggunakan teori Hurlock (2000) tentang faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi hubungan saudara sebagai tambahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hanya tiga faktor yang ditemukan berpengaruh pada hubungan saudara yaitu sikap orang tua, kedudukan dalam urutan, dan perbedaan usia. Sikap orang tua yang menjadi harapan orang tua, prioritas orang tua, dan sikap orang tua yang berpihak pada salah satu anaknya. Setelah itu, posisi dalam tatanan yang sedang kompetitif, pemberontak, bergumul dengan posisi dan haus pujian. Terakhir adalah perbedaan usia yaitu bagaimana orang tua memperlakukan anak karena sederajat atau berbeda. Dari uraian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya sibling rivalry dalam novel Blume's Superfudge. |
| Abstrak (Inggris) | This research entitled Sibling Rivalry in Blume’s Superfudge. The purpose of the research is to find out how does siblings’ rivalry occur in Blume’s Superfudge. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the data. The primary data is Judy Blume’s novel entitle Superfudge (1980). Superfudge is the second children's novel from the sequel of the Fudge Series. This research focuses on psychology that studying human behavior and their causes. In addition, the researcher used Adler’s theory (1964) of sibling rivalry to find out children’s characteristics in Blume’s Superfudge. The researcher also used Hurlock’s (2000) theory of factors that influence sibling relations as an addition. The result of this research shows that only three factors that found influent sibling relation that are the attitudes of the parents, the position in the order, and the age difference. The attitude of the parents that are the expectations of the parents, parents’ priorities, and the attitude of the parents who sided with one of the children. After that, the position in the order that are being competitive, rebellious and struggle with position and eager for praise. Last is the age differences that are how parents treat the children due to close age same or different. From the explanation above, it can be concluded that there are many factors than influences the occurrence of sibling rivalry in the novel Blume’s Superfudge. |
