Judul Artikel | OPTIMASI TARGET PADA DOUBLE LAYER BEAM SHAPING ASSEMBLY UNTUK PENINGKATAN NEUTRON EPITERMAL |
Abstrak (Inggris) | The Double Layer Beam Shaping Assembly (DLBSA) model has been able to produce the minimum epithermal neutron beam required by the IAEA through optimization of DLBSA components. In this study will be done target optimization that is able to produce maximum epithermal neutrons with target materials Beryllium (Be) and Tantalum (Ta). The study was conducted in a simulation using the PHITS program. The purpose of the study was to determine the neutron flux produced by the interaction of the 30 MeV proton with the target material in the DLBSA system, determine the optimal radius and thickness of the target capable of producing epithermal neutrons in the DLBSA system, and analyze the effect of the target configuration that has been optimized in increasing the epithermal neutron flux at the DLBSA output. The optimal rapid neutron flux yield in Be and Ta is 7.27x1011 n/cm2.s and 1.22 x1012 n/cm2.s. The results of diameter optimization on the Target Be and Ta obtained that the highest fast neutron flux is at a diameter of 5.5 cm, while the result of the highest target flux thickness is 4.75 cm thick. The result of the epithermal neutron flux produced by DLBSA uses optimal Be and Ta targets of 5.26 x109 n/cm2.s and 5.54 x109n/cm2.s. |
