Judul ArtikelEVALUASI FITOKIMIA, TOKSISITAS DAN POTENSI ANTIMIKROBA EKSTRAK SEREH WANGI (Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt) DENGAN DESTILASI BERTINGKAT
Abstrak (Inggris)Agriculture in Indonesia is quite advanced, such as citronella which contains bioactive compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various types of solvent on phytochemicals, toxicity, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (KBM) and antimicrobial activity of citronella leaf extract from fractional distillation. In this study, a toxicity test was conducted using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BST) method and a phytochemical test with reagents. Data on mortality of shrimp larvae were analyzed by probit analysis to determine the value of Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50). MIC and MBC were tested using the dilution method. The antimicrobial activity of citronella was tested with a clear zone. The test microbes used were Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida tropicalis The secondary metabolites contained in each extract are flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids and triterpenoids. The LC50 values for extracts ethanol 70%, ethyl acetate and hexane were 4.171, 433, respectively; 35.419,898 and 3.189,346 g/ml. MIC E. coli with citronella extract ethanol 70%, ethyl acetate and hexane as solvents were 6,25%; 1,56% and 6,25%. MBC E.coli with extracts ethanol 70%, ethyl acetate and hexane were 50%; 12,5% and 100%. The MIC of the three extracts on Candida tropicalis was 1,56%. The results MBC Candida tropicalis of extract ethanol 70%, ethyl acetate and hexane are 50%, 3,13% and 6,25%. Antimicrobial activity of extracts ethanol 70%, ethyl acetate and hexane against E. coli were 7,2 ± 0,24; 6,95 ± 0,21 and 6,81 ± 0,18 mm. In Candida tropicalis it was 7,67 ± 0,26; 7,91 ± 0,39 and 7,67 ± 0,4 mm
