AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan respon pertumbuhan dan hasil dua varietas bawang merah pada berbagai salinitas udara dalam media tanah pasir pantai. Penelitian dilaksanakan di screen house dan Laboratorium Agronomi dan Hortikultura Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) faktorial dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu perlakuan varietas bawang merah yaitu varietas Bima Brebes dan varietas Bali Karet. Faktor kedua yaitu perlakuan salinitas udara yang terdiri atas empat taraf yaitu 0 mS, 6 mS, 12 mS, dan 18 mS. Variabel yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan tanaman dan hasil tanaman. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji F dan apabila terdapat keragaman dilakukan uji lanjut Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas Bali Karet memberikan respon terbaik pada tinggi tanaman (58,54 cm), luas daun (2523,26 cm2), bobot akar segar (0,58 g), bobot daun segar (23,44 g), bobot akar kering (0,12 g), bobot daun kering (1,86 g), diameter umbi (2,76 cm), bobot umbi segar per rumpun (45,39 g), bobot umbi kering per rumpun (6,29 g), dan hasil umbi segar (11,35 ton/ha), namun varietas Bima Brebes memberikan jumlah umbi per rumpun yang lebih baik (6,67 buah) dibandingkan varietas Bali Karet. Semakin tinggi salinitas udara maka tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot akar segar (y=-0,02x2+0,036x+0,515 dan R²=0,7536), bobot akar kering (y=0,0075x2-0,0525x+0,1625 dan R²=0,9153), dan bobot umbi kering per rumpun (y=0,4025x2-3,0835x+9,6375 dan R²=0,9994) semakin menurun.
Abstrak (Inggris)This study aims to explain the growth response and yield of two varieties of shallots at various air salinities in coastal sandy soil media. The research was carried out at the screen house and the Laboratory of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Sudirman University. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Block Design with two factors and three replications. The first factor is the treatment of onion varieties, namely the Bima Brebes variety and the Bali Karet variety. The second factor is the air salinity treatment which consists of four levels, namely 0 mS, 6 mS, 12 mS, and 18 mS. The variables observed included plant growth and crop yields. The results of the study were analyzed using the F test and if there was diversity, Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was further tested at the 5% level. The results showed that the Bali Karet variety gave the best response to plant height (58.54 cm), leaf area (2523.26 cm2), fresh root weight (0.58 g), fresh leaf weight (23.44 g), and leaf weight. dry roots (0.12 g), dry leaf weight (1.86 g), tuber diameter (2.76 cm), fresh bulb weight per clump (45.39 g), dry tuber weight per clump (6.29 g ), and yield of fresh tubers (11.35 tons/ha), but the Bima Brebes variety gave a better number of tubers per clump (6.67 pieces) than the Bali Karet variety. The higher the air salinity, the plant height, number of leaves, fresh root weight (y=-0.02x2+0.036x+0.515 and R²=0.7536), dry root weight (y=0.0075x2-0.0525x+0, 1625 and R²=0.9153), and the dry tuber weight per clump (y=0.4025x2-3.0835x+9.6375 and R²=0.9944) decreased.
