Judul ArtikelEKSPLORASI, IDENTIFIKASI DAN UJI MORTALITAS JAMUR ENTOMOPATOGEN LOKAL KABUPATEN PURBALINGGA TERHADAP Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith IN VITRO
AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jamur entomopatogen, mengetahui mortalitas dan mengetahui teknik aplikasi paling efektif untuk mengendalikan S. frugiperda hasil eksplorasi larva S. frugiperda terinfeksi di Kabupaten Purbalingga. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, dari Januari-Mei 2022. Pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive random sampling. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri dua faktor, yaitu jenis jamur entomopatogen dan teknik aplikasi, dengan 9 kombinasi diulang 3 kali. Variabel pengamatan meliputi mortalitas, aktivitas makan, pertumbuhan, dan reproduksi larva. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 1) hasil eksplorasi jamur entomopatogen adalah dari genus Metarhizium sp. dan Penicillium sp. 2) Metarhizium sp. tunggal lebih efektif dibanding Penicillium sp. dalam mematikan larva S. frugiperda, namun sama peningkatan persentase mortalitasnya 100% terhadap kontrol. Jamur Metarhizium sp. dan Penicillium sp. menurunkan aktivitas makan, lama periode larva instar tiga, serta jumlah telur masing-masing sebesar 24,99 dan 15,99 %, 4,71 dan 2,46 %, 9,18 dan 8,04 % terhadap kontrol. 3) Perlakuan tunggal metode perendaman pakan menurunkan mortalitas 55,18% dibanding metode lainnya. Penyemprotan tubuh larva memiliki penurunan mortalitas 44,84% dibanding metode lainnya. Metode aplikasi tidak berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas makan, pertumbuhan dan fekunditas larva. 4) Perlakuan gabungan Metarhizium sp., penyemprotan tubuh larva dan perendaman pakan memiliki persentase mortalitas mencapai 100%. Perlakuan interaksi jamur Metarhizium sp. dan metode aplikasi menurunkan daya pakan 16 %. Penurunan periode larva instar tiga menjadi pupa dan jumlah telur terbesar pada perlakuan kombinasi Metarhizium sp. dan penyemprotan tubuh larva masing-masing 6,34 dan 11,20% dibanding kontrol.
Abstrak (Inggris)The purpose of research was identify entomopathogenic fungi, to determine mortality and the most effective application technique to control Spodoptera frugiperda from exploration of infected S. frugiperda larvae in Purbalingga Regency. Research was conducted at Plant Protection Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Sudirman University, from January-May 2022. Sampling method was purposive random sampling. Completely randomized design was used consisted of two factors, namely entomopathogenic fungus and application technique, with 9 combinations repeated 3 times. Observation variables included mortality, feeding activity, growth, and reproduction. Result of the research showed 1)Results of entomopathogenic fungi exploration were genus Metarhizium sp. and Penicillium sp. 2) Metarhizium sp. alone was more effective than Penicillium sp. in killing S. frugiperda, but same percentage increase in mortality was 100% compared to control. Metarhizium sp. and Penicillium sp. decreased feeding activity, length of third instar larvae period, and number of eggs as 24.99 and 15.99%, 4.71 and 2.46%, 9.18 and 8.04%, respectively, compared to control. 3)Feed dyeing method reduced mortality by 55.18% compared to other methods. Spraying larvae body had a 44.84% reduction in mortality compared other methods. Application method did not affect feeding activity, growth and fecundity. 4)Combination of Metarhizium sp., spraying larvae body, and dipping feed had mortality percentage of up to 100%. Metarhizium sp. and application method reduces feed power by 16%. Longest period of third instar larvae to pupae and largest number of eggs decreased in combination of Metarhizium sp. and spraying larvae body respectively as 6.34 and 11.20% compared control.
