| Abstrak | Penelitian yang berjudul “Psychology Registers Found in The Dialogue Among Characters of Lehane’s” bertujuan untuk menganalisa register psikologi yang terdapat pada novel Shutter Island. Penelitian ini juga menyajikan Faktor Faktor SPEAKING dari percakapan antar karakter di dalam novel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Shutter Island dan data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Sejumlah 25 kata register diambil dari novel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 25 register, terdapat 24 register spesial yang digunakan dikalangan psikolog, contohnya seperti Psychopharmacology and Grief trauma. Faktor faktor SPEAKING yang ditemukan adalah; Scene and Setting, penggunaan register dilakukan di dalam area rumah sakit; Participants atau orang yang menggunakan register adalah orang yang bekerja dibidang psikologi; Ends dari percakapan adalah representative and directive; Act Sequences dari percakapan adalah serious matter; Keys dari percakapan antara lain, serious, curious, high tune and low tune tetapi yang paling sering digunakan adalah enthusiastic; Instrumentality dari percakapan adalah oral speech; Norm dari percakapan adalah informing, answering, asking and commanding; and Genre dari percakapan adalah problem talks. |
| Abstrak (Inggris) | The research entitled “Psychology Registers Found in The Dialogue Among Characters of Lehane’s Shutter Island” is intended to analyze the psychology registers in the novel Shutter Island by Denis Lehane. This research also presents the SPEAKING factors of the conversation between characters using the registers. In this research, a descriptive qualitative method is used to analyze the data. The data source of this study is Shutter Island novel. The data are collected by using documentation method and by using purposive sampling method. The result of the research is 25 registers. There are 24 words have special registers used only in psychological field. For example: Psychopharmacology and Grief trauma. The SPEAKING factors found in the analysis are; the Scene and Setting, the registers are used mainly in the hospital area; the participants who used the registers are mainly people who worked in psychological field; the Ends are mainly representative and directive; the Act Sequences are mainly about the serious matter; the Keys are enthusiastic, serious, curious, high tune and low tune but the most frequently used is enthusiastic; the Instrumentality is oral speech; the Norm are informing, answering, asking and commanding; and the Genre are mainly problem talks. |
