| Abstrak | ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “An Analysis of Reading Teaching Materials Used for English Subject in an International Standardized School (A Case Study of the Seventh Grade on SMP N 2 Purwokerto)”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui materi reading bahasa Inggris yg digunakan di SMP N 2 Purwokerto (2) untuk mengetahui bagaimana keterkaitan antara materi reading bahasa Inggris dengan silabus (3) untuk mengungkapkan pendapat guru, orangtua, dan siswa tentang materi reading bahasa Inggis yg digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas tujuh. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif. reading bahasa Inggris untuk kelas 7 di sekolah berstandar internasional. Setelah melakukan penelitian,dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak semua materi reading bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk kelas 7 sesuai dengan silabus, tetapi silabus yang ada sesuai dengan Standar Isi. Ada dua pendapat dari guru tentang materi reading bahasa Inggris, yaitu materi reading bahasa Inggris yang diberikan kepada siswa sesuai dengan Standar Isi. Terlebih lagi, dia mengatakan bahwa materi reading bahasa Inggris yang diberikan kepada siswa sesuai dengan silabus. Selain itu, para siswa juga berpendapat bahwa materi reading bahasa Inggris sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Sementara, orangtua murid menagatakan bahwa materi reading bahasa Inggris sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak-anak mereka. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan keuntungan bagi para mahasiswa bahasa Inggris sebagai referensi bagi mereka yang tertarik melakukan penelitian dibidang linguistik terapan. | Abstrak (Inggris) | ABSTRACT The research is entitled “ An Analysis of Reading Teaching Materials Used for English Subject in an International Standardized School (A Case Study of the Seventh Grade on SMP N 2 Purwokerto)”. The purposes of the research are (1) to see the existing English reading materials used in SMP N 2 Purwokerto, (2) to find out how English reading materials relate to the syllabus, (3) To reveal the perceptions of teachers, stake holders, and students about reading materials used in teaching learning process in seventh grade. This research belongs to a qualitative research. It was conducted to obtain a clear description about English reading materials used for the seventh grade in international standardized school. After conducting the research, it is concluded that not all the English reading materials used for the seventh grade matched with the syllabus, but the syllabus is matched with the Standar Isi. There were two opinions from the English teachers about the English reading material, i.e. English reading material given for students was appropriate with “Standar Isi”. She said that English reading material given for students was appropriate with the syllabus. Besides, the students had an opinion that English reading material was appropriate with their needs. While, the stakeholders said that English reading material was appropriate with their student’s need. This research is expected to give benefit to the students of English Department as a reference for them who are interested in conducting the research in the field of applied linguistic.
