Academic Year 2012/2013. Keywords: Personality-changes, divorce, Stealing Home The research entitled “The Effects of Parents’ Divorce Toward Tyler Townsan’s in Sherryl Woods’ Stealing Home” is aimed to analyze the effect of parents’ divorce toward Tyler Townsand and to find out the causes of the Tyler Townsand changes in Sherryl Woods’s Stealing Home”. In this research, descriptive qualitative method is used to analyze the sentences and utterances in the novel by using the psychological theory to reveal the changes in Tyler’s personality as a teenager. There are steps done in analyzing the character changing of Tyler Towsend. First method is collecting the sentences and utterances related to the character of Tyler. Second method is analyzing the words to find the personality changing of Tyler Towsend by exploring the characterization used by the author to describe him. Next step is finding out the influence of the divorce. The last step is concluding. In describing and emphasizing the data of the research, the technique of characterization is used to find out the personality and the behavior of the character through the words and meaning. The analysis shows that The effects of parents’ divorce toward Tyler Townsand is divided into positive effect is more mature and sensitive teenager and the negative are the changing mood, swearing words, academic change social interaction. Then the find out the causes Tyler Townsand’s changes are the misbehavior of Tyler’s father, Noreen interference, Ty found a new role model of father The results of the research are expected to enrich the comprehension about the psychological theory and the use of the technique of the characterization. Kata Kunci: Personality-changes, divorce, Stealing Home Penelitian yang berjudul " The Effects of Parents’ Divorce toward Tyler Towsend’s Personality in Sherryl Woods’ Stealing Home " ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perceraian orang tua terhadap kepribadian Tyler Townsand dan untuk menemukan penyebab perubahan Tyler di Sherryl Woods' Stealing Home ". Dalam penelitian ini, metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis kalimat dan ucapan-ucapan dalam novel dengan menggunakan teori psikologi untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh perceraian orang tua terhadap kepribadian Tyler sebagai remaja. Beberapa langkah dilakukan dalam menganalisis pengaruh perceraian orang tua terhadap kepribadan Tyler . Metode pertama adalah mengumpulkan kalimat dan ucapan-ucapan yang berkaitan dengan karakter Tyler. Metode kedua adalah menganalisis kata-kata untuk menemukan apa penyebab perubahan Tyler kepribadian Tyler Towsend dengan mengeksplorasi karakterisasi yang digunakan oleh penulis untuk menggambarkan dirinya. Langkah selanjutnya adalah menemukan pengaruh perceraian. Langkah terakhir adalah menyimpulkan. Dalam menjelaskan dan menekankan data penelitian, teknik karakterisasi digunakan untuk mengetahui kepribadian dan perilaku karakter melalui kata-kata dan makna. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh perceraian orang tua terhadap kepribadian Tyler di bagi menjadi efek positive dan negative, pengaruh positifnya adalah Tyler menjadi lebih dewasa dan mengerti ibunya,pengaruh negatifnya adalah perubahan mood, kata kata umpatan. ketidakmampuan untuk berinteraksi sosial dan perubahan akademik.analisis tentang peyebab perubahan Tyler di badi menjadi tiga bagian kebencian Tyler terhadap kelakuan bejat ayahnya, campur tangan Noreen dan menemukan sosok baru ayahnya. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memperkaya pemahaman tentang teori psikologi dan penggunaan teknik karakterisasi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti lain dapat menggunakannya dalam objek lain. |
