AbstrakSalmonella typhi merupakan bakteri penyebab penyakit demam tifoid. Pengobatan demam tifoid dapat menggunakan obat antibakteri yaitu kloramfenikol. Kloramfenikol akan menimbulkan efek samping berupa depresi sumsum tulang belakang, anemia aplastik, mual dan muntah. Kulit pisang kluthuk memiliki kandungan golongan metabolit sekunder yaitu tannin, dan flavanoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak metanol kulit pisang kluthuk dan kombinasinya dengan kloramfenikol terhadap bakteri S.typhi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Kulit pisang dikeringkan menggunakan oven suhu 45°C. Kulit pisang yang telah dikeringkan diekstrak dengan menggunakan metode maserasi, kemudian diidentifikasi golongan metabolit sekunder mengunakan pereaksi warna. Uji aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan difusi cakram. Untuk mengetahui kadar hambat minimum (KHM), diameter zona hambat dianalisis menggunakan uji one way anova. Hasil penelitian didapatkan KHM ekstrak kulit pisang kluthuk dan kloramfenikol masing-masing 7% dan 8 ppm. Kombinasi ekstrak kulit pisang kluthuk dan kloramfenikol didapatkan nilai FIC index = 1
Abstrak (Inggris)Salmonella typhi is the bacteria which causes typhoid fever. The treatment of typhoid fever is possible to use antibacterial drugs such as chloramphenicol. Chloramphenicol will cause side effects such as bone marrow depression, aplastic anemia, nausea and also vomiting. Peels of kluthuk’s banana can be used as an alternative medicine to treat S.typhi. The purpose of this study was to determine of kluthuk’s banana peel methanol extract and its combination to chloramphenicol against bacterial S.typhi. This study was experimental laboratory, banana peels was dried used oven at 45 ° C. Then, the dried banana peels was extracted by maceration method, futhermore, it was identified by class of secondary metabolite using color reagent. The antibacterial test was used disc diffusion method. To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), the diameter of inhibition zone was analyzed by ANOVA test. The results was show in MIC kluthuk banana peel extract and chloramphenicol, respectively 7% and 8 ppm. The combination of kluthuk’s banana peel extract and chloramphenicol value was obtained FIC index = 1.
